(NOTE: a line may not begin with a pronoun variable, or it will not be capitalized. Variables do not go in the invalid argument line.) actor - person performing the social victim - person at whom social is directed room - those in the room who see the social variable what it means -------- ------------- $N victim's name $n actor's name $M him or her, referring to victim $m him or her, referring to actor $E he or she, referring to victim $e he or she, referring to actor $S his or her, referring to victim $s his or her, referring to actor more examples! 1. If you wanted a social to say: Molly stares at Questor and rolls her eyes. you would write: $n stares at $N and rolls $s eyes. 2. To have a social read: Molly invites Questor to join her. you would write: $n invites $N to join $m. 3. Finally, to say: You attack Questor and try to wring his neck. you would write: You attack $N and try to wring $S neck. (Note that all variables referring to actor are lowercase, while all variables referring to victim are uppercase. This *does* make a difference!) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Questions, comments, gripes and insults about this document should go to: caila@strangemud.net
